PLEASE READ BEFORE BOOKING
ALL PACKAGES ARE ALL-INCLUSIVE: Please check each package description for specifics about occupancy and accommodation details.
35% NON-REFUNDABLE DEPOSITS: Please understand that in order for The Lady of the Château to provide the highest quality workshops, we incur non-refundable costs with instructors, vendors, suppliers, and others. Our non-refundable deposit policy reflects that. We encourage attendees to only book when they are fully committed to joining us. We understand of course that there is always the possibility of unforeseen circumstances that may come up, which is why we STRONGLY recommend that all workshop attendees purchase travel insurance to protect the investment made on this trip. We recommend the travel insurance company WORLD NOMADS. Thank you for understanding.
FINAL PAYMENT NON-REFUNDABLE POLICY
Once we collect your final payment, one month before the beginning of the retreat, this also becomes non-refundable. We collect the final payment this late to help our retreat participants ensure that they will be able to attend. We sink non-refundable costs into the planning and execution of each and every workshop, well before it begins- very much based around the exact group size. Please be aware of this policy as you make each payment, and in the event of an unavoidable cancellation, please turn to your travel insurance to reimburse your retreat and travel fees.
HISTORIC VENUE- ACCESSIBILITY AND TERRAIN
By entering the premises of Chateau de Puy Vidal, you are entering an 800-year-old building and grounds. Much like most of Europe, there are a variety of uneven surfaces, historic furniture and flooring, level changes, gravel pathways, stone staircases, area rugs, and screenless windows. We the Venue have taken all reasonable measures to secure the environment for guests while preserving the historic authenticity of the Chateau. There is an elevator that accesses the central wing guest rooms, so please let us know if you need us to make sure you are assigned to an elevator-accessible bedroom. Please note, that the overall venue is not handicap accessible or easy to navigate for those with mobility issues due to level changes between every ground floor room. All guests must proceed and participate in retreat activities with appropriate caution and attention for their safety in these historic surroundings. Particularly for Painting workshops, participants will need to be able to handle moving their easels, tripods and art bags as they change locations for class each day. This is an important consideration for workshop participants to understand before booking.
FARMHOUSE ACCOMMODATIONS
We have partnered with our neighboring Farmhouse Bed and Breakfast just up the road from the Chateau to be able to offer additional accommodations outside the Chateau. This allows us to offer more affordable packages based on the difference in accommodation price. This is the only offsite accommodation that we offer as it is so close to the Chateau, that guests who stay there truly feel part of the intimate and centralized experience of the workshop. We provide a shuttle each morning and each evening to all farmhouse guests. If guests need to return to their rooms during the day for any reason, it is an easily walkable 8-minutes along a forest and farmland or an even faster bike ride, and we have several cruiser bikes available for you to use. Typically all 3 guest rooms at the Farmhouse are booked by workshop participants, so you will see other guests with you there. The B&B owners, Pascale and Herve, are an absolutely lovely and hospitable French couple who very much enjoy meeting people from around the world. We handle the booking and payment for your stay, as it is included in the farmhouse packages, and we will accompany you as you check-in. During your stay, feel free to let us know if you need anything adjusted in your accommodations, and also know that Pascale is an attentive and responsive host whom you can go to at any time.
OUR FURRY COMPANIONS AT THE CHÂTEAU
Chateau de Puy Vidal is also the home to our 4 furry companions - Pisco (calico cat), Troubadour (Australian shepherd), Wendell (golden retriever), and the latest addition to the family a Turkish Angora kitten, Truffle. We kindly ask that you please let us know if you have any pet allergies so that we can best accommodate you. We recommend you keep your room doors closed as they all enjoy wandering around the chateau.
PROMOTIONAL MATERIAL AND SOCIAL MEDIA USAGE

Film and photography form a basis here at the Château during all events stemming from our 15 years of film and television production experience. We take pride in the images and short films we produce during these events and share these assets with our guest instructors and participants for their enjoyment, memories & self-promotional use. Consent from Workshop Attendees: Upon booking, workshop attendees consent and release any images and photography taken by them by the Workshop Organizers during the Workshop. The Workshop Organizers and Instructors shall not be held liable for any claims arising from using Digital Media without proper consent.
